Paid Internships at REMO: Learn New Skills and Help the Planet

REMO is really excited to share that our paid 6-week internship program is growing. You can join us right here at the REMO Eco Hub in March or at our local shops.

We want to make our community a cleaner, greener place. These short jobs are perfect for anyone who wants to get stuck in, learn by doing, and find out what it’s like to work in a planet-friendly team.

Whether you are looking for a fresh start, trying to get back into work, or just want to learn how to live more sustainably, REMO is a friendly, no-pressure place to learn, earn, and create.

What You Get Out of a REMO Internship

Think of a 6-week internship as a fun “test drive” for a job. It gives you a real chance to come in, try things out with your own hands, and see if you love the work before you make any big, long-term decisions.

Here is what you get:

  • Real Skills: You will learn how to use physical tools, sort materials, or work with digital systems.
  • More Confidence: You will get a great reference for your CV, learn how a real workplace runs, and feel proud of what you can do.
  • Helping the Earth: Every single day, you will be directly helping to save good items from being thrown into the bin.

The Roles You Can Choose From

We have six different roles ready for people to try out. Each one focuses on a different part of helping the hub run smoothly:

  • REMO Retail Assistant: You will welcome people into our community shops, help them find what they need, and make sure everyone feels happy and welcome.
  • REMO Scrapstore Assistant: You will help sort, clean, and organize all the amazing craft items and creative resources that people donate to us.
  • REMO Textile Remanufacturing Technician: You will work directly with fabric and clothes, learning how to sort and prepare rescued textiles so they can be reused or turned into something new.
  • REMO Digital Sales Assistant: You will take photos of unique vintage items and craft packs, write descriptions for them, and upload them to our online shops.
  • REMO Paint Remanufacturing Technician: You will get hands-on with our big paint-saving machines, mixing and rescuing leftover paint to keep it out of the landfill.
  • REMO Marketing Assistant: You will help tell our story by taking photos around the hub, writing quick updates, and helping with our social media pages.

Why You Should Choose REMO

For over 20 years, REMO has been rescuing, fixing, and recycling things to help our local community. We don’t think learning new skills should cost the earth.

You don’t need to be a shop expert or a master builder to join us, you don’t need any previous experience at all. We treat our interns like true insiders from day one. We want to hear your ideas, see your creativity, and help you grow.

Your Time Commitment

We know everyone has busy lives. To make sure you get to see a project through from start to finish, all we ask for is a minimum commitment of just 4 hours a week during your 6-week placement. We can easily work together to find a time slot that fits your schedule.
