REMO CHARITY

The REMO Charitable Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, Registered Charity No 1196953 and was incorporated on the 6th December 2021.

The Charity’s objects are, for the benefit of the public:

(a) the relief of poverty or financial hardship among people living in primarily (but not exclusively) Cambridgeshire through the provision of food and services which they could not otherwise afford through lack of means;

(b) the relief of children and young people who are suffering bereavement, chronic illness or hardship, in particular by enabling them to engage in creative and therapeutic activity through the provision of arts and crafts materials.

The REMO Charity Mission

The REMO Charitable Trust offers support and resources for local people in need. We work with a number of support organisations who refer people in need to our Food4Good and Box of Rainbows initiatives. Likewise we also refer and signpost to other organisations who may be better placed to offer specific support such as debt advice, support in accessing funding to pay for essential items, help with emotional and financial guidance. Supporting people in need and caring for the planet is at the heart of all we do.

We welcome in kind donations of food, toiletries, arts and crafts resources and also financial donations.

Food4Good

This includes the FREE food available from The REMO Community Fridge and affordable trolley loads from The Social Supermarket. This surplus food sharing scheme saves good food from being wasted whilst helping families and individuals access nourishment and support. Working with The Wisbech Foodbank, which provides food in times of crisis, this scheme offers weekly help over weeks and months, so together we are able to help more people for longer. All the income from the Food4Good Social Supermarket goes to the Charity to contribute to the running costs of delivery this scheme.

Box of Rainbows Scheme

Many children experiencing long term debilitating illness do not have the same opportunities as other children. Their lives often involve hospital visits, continual medical treatments and poor health. Many lack opportunities for making personal choices, social inclusion and spending time with others to do fun activities and play. This has a negative impact on the mental health of these young people which in turn isolates them further. The workshops and gift boxes are provided through a combination of grant funding and donations.
